Andre The Giant
André the Giant, born André René Roussimoff in 1946, was a professional wrestler and actor from France. He was known for his immense size, standing over 7 feet tall and weighing around 520 pounds. His unique stature was due to acromegaly, a disorder caused by excess growth hormone. André became a global icon in the wrestling world, particularly during the 1970s and 1980s.
In addition to wrestling, André appeared in several films, most notably in The Princess Bride as Fezzik, a gentle giant. His larger-than-life personality and charisma made him a beloved figure in both sports and entertainment. André passed away in 1993, leaving a lasting legacy.
