André the Giant
André the Giant was a professional wrestler and actor, born André René Roussimoff on May 19, 1946, in France. He was known for his immense size, standing over 7 feet tall and weighing around 520 pounds. His unique condition, acromegaly, caused his body to grow larger than average, which contributed to his fame in the wrestling world.
He gained international recognition in the 1970s and 1980s, particularly for his role in the WWE and his iconic match against Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania III. André also appeared in films, most notably as Fezzik in the classic movie The Princess Bride. He passed away on January 27, 1993.
