Ancient Thrace
Ancient Thrace was a region located in Southeast Europe, primarily covering parts of modern-day Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey. It was inhabited by the Thracians, a group of Indo-European tribes known for their warrior culture and rich traditions. The region was strategically important due to its location between the Roman Empire and the Greek city-states.
The Thracians were skilled in metalwork and agriculture, and they practiced a polytheistic religion, worshipping various gods and goddesses. Ancient Thrace was also known for its unique burial mounds, called tumuli, which often contained elaborate grave goods. The region eventually fell under the influence of the Roman Empire and later the Byzantine Empire.
