Amur leopards
The Amur leopard is a critically endangered subspecies of leopard found primarily in the temperate forests of the Russian Far East and northeastern China. Known for its beautiful, thick fur with rosettes, this solitary cat is well-adapted to cold climates. It primarily preys on deer and small mammals, using its keen eyesight and stealth to hunt.
With an estimated population of fewer than 100 individuals in the wild, the Amur leopard faces significant threats from habitat loss, poaching, and prey depletion. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this elusive species and its habitat, aiming to increase its numbers and ensure its survival.
