Ammospiza Melodia
Ammospiza melodia, commonly known as the Savannah Sparrow, is a small bird found primarily in North America. It typically inhabits grasslands, fields, and wetlands, where it forages for seeds and insects. The bird is characterized by its streaked brown and white plumage, a short tail, and a distinctive yellow patch in front of its eyes.
These sparrows are known for their melodic songs, which they use to communicate and establish territory. During the breeding season, they build nests on the ground, often hidden among grasses. Ammospiza melodia is migratory, moving south in the winter to avoid harsh weather conditions.
