Amir Kabir
Amir Kabir was a prominent Iranian statesman and reformer during the Qajar dynasty in the 19th century. Born in 1807, he served as the Prime Minister of Persia from 1848 until his assassination in 1851. Kabir is best known for his efforts to modernize the country, including reforms in education, infrastructure, and the economy.
His most notable achievements include the establishment of the Dar al-Funun, the first modern university in Iran, and the promotion of industrial development. Despite his significant contributions, Kabir faced opposition from conservative factions, leading to his eventual downfall and death, which marked a turning point in Iranian politics.
