American robin
The American robin is a common bird found across North America. It is easily recognizable by its bright orange-red breast, grayish-brown back, and cheerful song. Robins are often seen hopping on lawns, searching for worms and insects, which make up a significant part of their diet.
These birds are known for their distinctive nesting behavior, typically building nests in trees or shrubs. The female lays 3 to 5 blue eggs, which she incubates for about two weeks. American robins are also a sign of spring, as they migrate south for the winter and return as temperatures warm.
