American Motors Corporation (AMC)
American Motors Corporation (AMC) was an American automobile manufacturer founded in 1954. It was created through the merger of the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation and the Hudson Motor Car Company. AMC was known for producing compact cars and innovative designs, including the popular Javelin and Gremlin models.
The company aimed to compete with larger automakers by focusing on fuel-efficient vehicles during the oil crisis of the 1970s. Despite its efforts, AMC struggled financially and was eventually acquired by Chrysler Corporation in 1987, marking the end of its independent operations.
