Amazon River dolphin
The Amazon River dolphin, also known as the boto, is a freshwater dolphin found in the rivers and lakes of the Amazon Basin. These dolphins are known for their distinctive pink coloration, which can vary from gray to bright pink as they mature. They can grow up to 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) long and are known for their rounded bodies and long snouts.
Amazon River dolphins are social animals, often found in small groups. They primarily feed on fish, crustaceans, and other aquatic creatures. Unlike oceanic dolphins, they have flexible necks that allow them to navigate through the complex river environments of the Amazon Rainforest.
