Amazon River Dolphins
The Amazon River Dolphin, also known as the boto, is a freshwater dolphin found in the rivers and lakes of the Amazon Basin. These dolphins are known for their distinctive pink coloration, which can vary from gray to bright pink as they mature. They can grow up to 8.5 feet long and weigh around 400 pounds.
Amazon River Dolphins are social animals, often seen in groups. They primarily feed on fish, crustaceans, and other aquatic creatures. Unlike ocean dolphins, they have a more flexible neck, allowing them to navigate through the complex river environments of the Amazon Rainforest.
