Amarnath Cave
The Amarnath Cave is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is famous for the natural ice Shiva Linga, which is formed from water that drips from the cave ceiling. The cave is situated at an altitude of about 3,888 meters and is accessible during the summer months, typically from late June to early August.
The cave is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities in Hinduism. According to legend, it is believed to be the place where Shiva revealed the secret of immortality to his consort, Parvati. Thousands of devotees visit the cave each year during the annual Amarnath Yatra, making it a vital part of Hindu religious culture.
