Amalia of Oldenburg
Amalia of Oldenburg was a German princess born on August 24, 1818, in Oldenburg. She was the daughter of Peter I, Grand Duke of Oldenburg and Louise of Denmark. Amalia became known for her charitable work and dedication to social causes, particularly in education and healthcare.
In 1842, she married Duke George of Saxe-Meiningen, becoming the Duchess of Saxe-Meiningen. Throughout her life, Amalia was involved in various cultural and social initiatives, contributing to the development of her duchy. She passed away on May 21, 1875, leaving a legacy of compassion and service.
