Amadou Sanogo
Amadou Sanogo is a Malian military officer who gained prominence after leading a coup d'état in March 2012. He was the head of the National Committee for the Restoration of Democracy and State, which overthrew the elected government of President Amadou Toumani Touré. Sanogo justified the coup by citing the government's failure to effectively address the Tuareg rebellion in northern Mali.
Following the coup, Sanogo faced criticism for his role in the subsequent violence and instability in the country. He was later arrested and charged with various crimes, including the murder of soldiers. His actions have had a lasting impact on Mali's political landscape and security situation.
