Alpha Geminorum, also known as Pollux, is the brightest star in the constellation Gemini. It is approximately 33.7 light-years away from Earth and is classified as a giant star with a yellow-orange hue. Pollux is about 1.5 times the mass of the Sun and has a radius nearly 8.5 times larger.
Pollux is notable for being a binary star system, with a smaller companion star designated Pollux B. This companion is a faint main-sequence star of spectral type K. Pollux is also known for its potential planetary system, as it has at least one confirmed exoplanet, Pollux b.
