Alnitak
Alnitak is a bright star located in the constellation of Orion. It is the easternmost star in the famous three-star belt of Orion, and it is classified as a blue supergiant. Alnitak is approximately 800 light-years away from Earth and is one of the most luminous stars known, shining with a brightness about 100,000 times that of the Sun.
This star is part of a triple star system, which includes two smaller companions. Alnitak is also known for its association with the Orion Nebula, a region of active star formation nearby. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning "the girdle," reflecting its position in the belt of the hunter Orion.
