Alnilam
Alnilam is a bright blue supergiant star located in the constellation Orion. It is the central star of the three stars that form the "belt" of Orion, making it easily recognizable in the night sky. Alnilam is approximately 1,300 light-years away from Earth and is about 275 times more luminous than the Sun.
This star is classified as a type B2 supergiant and has a surface temperature of around 27,000 Kelvin. Alnilam is also known for its rapid rotation, completing a full spin roughly every 11 days. It is part of a larger group of stars known as the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex.
