Alma Mahler
Alma Mahler was an Austrian composer and socialite, born on August 31, 1879. She was the daughter of the famous composer Gustav Mahler and became known for her own musical compositions, although she is often overshadowed by her relationships with prominent figures in the arts. Alma married Gustav Mahler in 1902 and later married the architect Walter Gropius and the writer Franz Werfel.
Throughout her life, Alma was a significant figure in the cultural scene of early 20th-century Europe. She hosted salons that attracted many influential artists and intellectuals, including Arnold Schoenberg and Richard Strauss.
