Alexios III Angelus
Alexios III Angelus was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 1195 to 1203. He came to power after deposing his brother, Isaac II Angelus, and faced numerous challenges during his reign, including internal strife and external threats from the Crusaders and neighboring states.
His rule is often criticized for its corruption and mismanagement, which weakened the Byzantine Empire. In 1203, Alexios III was overthrown by the Fourth Crusade, leading to the establishment of the Latin Empire and significant changes in the region's political landscape.
