Alexios II Angelus
Alexios II Angelus was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 1180 to 1183. He was the son of Isaac II Angelus and became emperor at a young age after his father's return to power. His reign was marked by political instability and challenges from both internal factions and external threats.
During his short rule, Alexios II faced significant opposition, particularly from the powerful noble Andronikos I Komnenos, who eventually seized control. In 1183, Andronikos overthrew Alexios II, leading to his assassination. This event marked the end of the Angelus dynasty's influence in the Byzantine Empire.
