Alexander I of Yugoslavia
Alexander I of Yugoslavia was the king of Yugoslavia from 1921 until his assassination in 1934. He was born on December 16, 1888, and became king after the death of his father, King Peter I. Alexander aimed to unify the diverse ethnic groups within Yugoslavia and promote a sense of national identity.
During his reign, Alexander implemented several reforms, including a new constitution in 1931 that centralized power. He faced significant political challenges, including rising nationalism and opposition from various factions. His rule ended abruptly when he was assassinated in Marseille, France, by a Macedonian nationalist.
