Alexander Doniphan
Alexander Doniphan was an American lawyer and military officer born on July 9, 1808, in Kentucky. He is best known for his role during the Mexican-American War, where he led a volunteer regiment and achieved notable victories, including the Battle of Sacramento. His leadership and strategic skills earned him recognition and respect.
In addition to his military service, Doniphan was involved in the early history of Missouri and played a significant role in the Mormon community. He is remembered for his defense of the rights of Mormons during a time of conflict and tension in the region. Doniphan passed away on August 8, 1887.
