Aksu-Zhabagly
Aksu-Zhabagly is a protected area located in southern Kazakhstan, established in 1926. It is the oldest nature reserve in the country and covers approximately 131,000 hectares. The reserve is known for its diverse ecosystems, including mountains, forests, and steppes, which are home to various plant and animal species.
The region is part of the Western Tien Shan mountain range and features stunning landscapes, including the Aksu River canyon. Aksu-Zhabagly is also recognized for its rich biodiversity, including rare species such as the snow leopard and the Tian Shan argali. It serves as an important site for conservation and scientific research.
