Akkineni Nageswara Rao
Akkineni Nageswara Rao, often referred to as ANR, was a prominent Indian film actor and producer known for his work in Telugu cinema. Born on September 20, 1924, he made his acting debut in 1941 and became one of the most celebrated figures in the industry. ANR was known for his versatility, portraying a wide range of characters in over 250 films throughout his career.
In addition to acting, ANR was a pioneer in promoting Telugu culture and cinema. He founded the Akkineni International Foundation to support various social causes and was instrumental in establishing the Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu. ANR received numerous awards, including the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, recognizing his contributions to Indian cinema.
