Akashi Castle
Akashi Castle is a historic Japanese castle located in Akashi City, Hyōgo Prefecture. Built in the early 17th century, it served as a strategic military stronghold during the Edo period. The castle features a unique design with a three-story main keep and surrounding moats, showcasing traditional Japanese architecture.
Today, only the stone foundations and some reconstructed structures remain, as the original castle was dismantled in the late 19th century. Akashi Castle Park now surrounds the site, offering visitors beautiful cherry blossoms in spring and a glimpse into Japan's feudal past.
