Ajahn Chah
Ajahn Chah was a prominent Thai Buddhist monk and teacher, born in 1918 in the Ubon Ratchathani province of Thailand. He is best known for his role in the development of the Forest Tradition of Theravada Buddhism, emphasizing meditation and mindfulness. His teachings focused on simplicity, direct experience, and the importance of living in the present moment.
Chah founded several monasteries, including Wat Nong Pah Pong, which became a center for training monks and laypeople. His influence extended beyond Thailand, inspiring many Western practitioners and teachers in the Buddhist community. Ajahn Chah passed away in 1992, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of Buddhism.
