Aircraft Launch Systems
Aircraft Launch Systems are mechanisms designed to propel aircraft from a stationary position into the air. These systems are commonly used on aircraft carriers, where space is limited, and traditional runways are not available. The most prevalent type is the catapult, which uses steam or electromagnetic forces to accelerate the aircraft to takeoff speed quickly.
In addition to catapults, some launch systems utilize rocket boosters or jet-assisted takeoff (JATO) to provide extra thrust. These systems ensure that military and commercial aircraft can efficiently and safely launch from various platforms, enhancing operational capabilities and mission effectiveness.
