Air-cooled
Air-cooled refers to a cooling system that uses air to dissipate heat from an engine or other machinery. This method is commonly found in smaller engines, such as those in motorcycles and lawnmowers, where airflow is sufficient to keep temperatures within safe limits. Air-cooled systems typically have fins or other structures to increase surface area, allowing for more efficient heat transfer.
Unlike liquid-cooled systems, which use coolant to absorb and transport heat, air-cooled systems rely solely on ambient air. This makes them simpler and lighter, as they do not require a radiator or water pump. However, they may be less effective in extreme heat or heavy-duty applications, where liquid cooling is often preferred.
