Air Force Logistics Command
The Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC) was a major command of the United States Air Force responsible for managing logistics and supply chain operations. Its primary mission was to ensure that air units had the necessary equipment, supplies, and maintenance support to operate effectively. This included overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials essential for air missions.
Established in 1961, the AFLC played a crucial role in supporting various air operations during the Cold War and beyond. In 1992, it was merged into the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), which continues to handle logistics and support for the Air Force today.
