Ahmet Ertegun
Ahmet Ertegun was a prominent Turkish-American music executive and co-founder of Atlantic Records, a major record label known for its influential role in the music industry. Born on July 31, 1923, in Istanbul, Turkey, he moved to the United States in his teens and developed a passion for music, particularly jazz and rhythm and blues.
Throughout his career, Ertegun played a crucial role in promoting and producing numerous iconic artists, including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Led Zeppelin. His contributions to the music world earned him several accolades, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. He passed away on December 14, 2006.
