Ahichhatra
Ahichhatra is an ancient archaeological site located in the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is known for its historical significance, particularly during the Mahabharata period. The site features remnants of ancient structures, pottery, and artifacts that provide insights into the region's past.
Excavations at Ahichhatra have revealed evidence of continuous habitation from the 6th century BCE to the 12th century CE. The findings suggest that it was an important urban center, possibly serving as a capital for various dynasties. The site is also associated with the legendary figure King Vikramaditya.
