Agnes of Assisi
Agnes of Assisi was born in 1197 in Assisi, Italy, as the daughter of a wealthy nobleman. She is best known for her close relationship with her sister, Clare of Assisi, who founded the Order of Poor Ladies, later known as the Poor Clares. Agnes chose a life of poverty and devotion, following her sister's example and dedicating herself to God.
Agnes became a nun and lived in the San Damiano convent, where she embraced a simple lifestyle focused on prayer and community service. She is recognized as a saint in the Catholic Church, with her feast day celebrated on January 16.
