African Water Buffalo
The African Water Buffalo, also known as the Cape Buffalo, is a large herbivorous mammal native to sub-Saharan Africa. It typically inhabits wetlands, savannas, and grasslands, where it feeds on grasses and aquatic plants. These animals are known for their strong, stocky build and distinctive curved horns, which can grow up to 1.5 meters long.
African Water Buffalos are social animals, often found in herds that can number in the hundreds. They play a crucial role in their ecosystem by grazing, which helps maintain the balance of vegetation. Despite their size and strength, they are preyed upon by large predators such as lions and crocodiles.
