African Rock Python
The African Rock Python is one of the largest snake species in Africa, known for its impressive size and strength. It can grow up to 20 feet long and weigh over 200 pounds. This non-venomous snake primarily inhabits savannas, forests, and wetlands, where it often resides near water sources.
These pythons are excellent swimmers and are known to hunt a variety of prey, including mammals and birds. They use constriction to subdue their prey before swallowing it whole. The African Rock Python plays a vital role in its ecosystem by helping to control the populations of its prey species.
