The Reticulated Python is one of the longest snake species in the world, capable of reaching lengths over 20 feet (6 meters). Native to Southeast Asia, it is known for its distinctive pattern of intricate, net-like markings, which help it blend into its environment. This non-venomous constrictor primarily preys on mammals and birds, using its powerful body to suffocate its catch.
These pythons are excellent swimmers and can often be found in forests, grasslands, and near water sources. They are solitary creatures, typically active at night. The Reticulated Python is also popular in the exotic pet trade, although they require significant space and care due to their size.
