African Monkeys
African monkeys are a diverse group of primates found across the continent. They belong to two main families: Cercopithecidae (Old World monkeys) and Atelidae (New World monkeys). These monkeys inhabit various environments, including forests, savannas, and mountains, and they play essential roles in their ecosystems, such as seed dispersal.
There are over 100 species of African monkeys, including well-known types like the Baboons, Macaques, and Colobus monkeys. They exhibit a range of social behaviors, often living in troops or groups. Their diets typically consist of fruits, leaves, and insects, making them important for maintaining the balance of their habitats.
