Aethelbald
Aethelbald was a king of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia, ruling from around 716 to 757 AD. He was the son of Aethelbert and became known for his military campaigns, which helped to expand and strengthen his kingdom during a time of regional instability.
During Aethelbald's reign, Mercia emerged as a dominant power in southern England. He is often remembered for his conflicts with neighboring kingdoms, including Northumbria and Wessex, as well as his efforts to consolidate power and influence over other Anglo-Saxon territories.
