Aegeus
Aegeus was a figure in Greek mythology, known as the king of Athens. He was the son of King Pandion and Queen Pylia. Aegeus is best known for his role as the father of Theseus, a legendary hero who would later become famous for his adventures, including slaying the Minotaur.
Aegeus faced challenges in having an heir, leading him to consult the oracle at Delphi. After receiving cryptic advice, he left his sandals and sword under a large rock, instructing that if his future son could lift the rock, he would be recognized as his child. This act set the stage for Theseus's eventual journey to Athens.
