Advent Services
Advent Services are special church gatherings held during the season of Advent, which is the four weeks leading up to Christmas. These services focus on themes of hope, peace, joy, and love, reflecting on the anticipation of the birth of Jesus Christ. They often include scripture readings, prayers, and hymns that prepare the congregation for the celebration of Christmas.
Many churches also incorporate the lighting of the Advent wreath, which features four candles representing each week of Advent. Each candle is lit during the services, symbolizing the growing light as the community prepares for the arrival of Christ. These services foster a sense of community and spiritual reflection during this meaningful time of year.
