Adela of Normandy
Adela of Normandy was a noblewoman born around 1062, the daughter of William the Conqueror and Matilda of Flanders. She played a significant role in the politics of medieval Europe, particularly through her marriages and connections. Adela married Stephen, Count of Blois, which strengthened ties between England and France.
As a mother, Adela had a notable influence on her children, including Stephen of Blois, who later became King of England. She was known for her piety and support of religious institutions, contributing to the establishment of several abbeys and churches during her lifetime.
