Actinic Keratosis
Actinic Keratosis is a rough, scaly patch on the skin that develops due to prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, often from the sun. It typically appears on sun-exposed areas such as the face, ears, neck, and hands. These lesions can vary in color, ranging from pink to red or brown, and may feel dry or itchy.
While Actinic Keratosis is not cancerous, it can sometimes progress to squamous cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer. Regular skin checks and protection from UV rays, such as using sunscreen and wearing protective clothing, are essential for prevention and early detection.
