Acholi Language
The Acholi language is a Nilotic language spoken primarily by the Acholi people in northern Uganda and parts of South Sudan. It belongs to the Nilo-Saharan language family and is known for its rich oral traditions and cultural significance.
Acholi is characterized by its tonal nature, meaning that the pitch of a word can change its meaning. The language has various dialects, with the main ones being spoken in the regions of Gulu and Kitgum. Efforts are ongoing to promote and preserve the language through education and cultural initiatives.
