Academic Cap
The Academic Cap, often referred to as a mortarboard, is a traditional headwear worn during graduation ceremonies. It consists of a flat, square-shaped top attached to a skullcap, typically made of black fabric. The cap is usually paired with a graduation gown and symbolizes the achievement of academic success.
The tassel attached to the cap is an important feature, often representing the graduate's field of study. During the ceremony, graduates typically move the tassel from one side to the other, marking their transition from student to graduate. This cap has become an iconic symbol of education and accomplishment.
