Abu 'Isa Muhammad ibn 'Isa al-Tirmidhi was a prominent Islamic scholar and hadith compiler born around 824 CE in Tirmidh, present-day Uzbekistan. He is best known for his work, Jami' at-Tirmidhi, which is one of the six major collections of hadith in Sunni Islam.
