Abu 'Isa Muhammad ibn 'Isa al-Tirmidhi
Abu 'Isa Muhammad ibn 'Isa al-Tirmidhi was a prominent Islamic scholar and hadith compiler born around 824 CE in Tirmidh, present-day Uzbekistan. He is best known for his work, Jami' at-Tirmidhi, which is one of the six major collections of hadith in Sunni Islam. Al-Tirmidhi traveled extensively to gather authentic sayings of the Prophet Muhammad and contributed significantly to the study of hadith.
