Abolhassan Banisadr
Abolhassan Banisadr was an Iranian politician and economist, born on March 22, 1933. He became the first President of Iran after the 1979 Iranian Revolution, serving from February 1980 until June 1981. Banisadr was a key figure in the early days of the Islamic Republic and was known for his opposition to the Pahlavi dynasty and support for Ayatollah Khomeini.
During his presidency, Banisadr faced significant challenges, including political infighting and the Iran-Iraq War. His tenure ended when he was impeached by the Islamic Assembly in 1981, leading to his exile. He later lived in France, where he continued to advocate for democracy in Iran.
