Abkhaz people
The Abkhaz people are an ethnic group primarily residing in the Abkhazia region, which is located on the eastern coast of the Black Sea. They speak the Abkhaz language, a member of the Northwest Caucasian language family. The Abkhaz have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and crafts, which reflect their historical experiences and connection to the land.
Historically, the Abkhaz people have faced various challenges, including conflicts and political struggles, particularly during the Abkhaz War in the early 1990s. Today, many Abkhaz identify as part of the Abkhazian Republic, which is recognized by a few countries but considered part of Georgia by most of the international community.
