Abdominal Hernias
An abdominal hernia occurs when an organ or tissue pushes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall. This can create a noticeable bulge, often in the groin or belly button area. Common types include inguinal hernias, which occur in the groin, and umbilical hernias, which happen near the belly button.
Hernias can develop due to various factors, including genetics, heavy lifting, or chronic coughing. While some hernias may not cause symptoms, others can lead to pain or complications if left untreated. Surgical intervention is often required to repair the hernia and prevent further issues.
