Abd al-Aziz ibn Marwan
Abd al-Aziz ibn Marwan was an important Umayyad governor of Egypt during the 7th century. He served from 685 to 705 CE and was known for his administrative skills and efforts to strengthen the region's economy. His leadership helped maintain stability in Egypt during a time of political turmoil within the Umayyad Caliphate.
He was the son of Marwan I, the fourth Umayyad caliph, and played a significant role in the expansion of Islamic influence in North Africa. Abd al-Aziz is also remembered for his contributions to infrastructure, including the construction of roads and irrigation systems, which improved agricultural productivity in Egypt.
