AVM
An AVM, or arteriovenous malformation, is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins. This condition can disrupt normal blood flow and oxygen delivery to tissues. AVMs can occur anywhere in the body but are most commonly found in the brain and spinal cord. They may be present at birth or develop over time.
Symptoms of an AVM can vary widely, ranging from headaches and seizures to more severe complications like bleeding. Diagnosis typically involves imaging techniques such as MRI or CT scans. Treatment options may include surgery, embolization, or radiation therapy to manage symptoms and reduce risks.
