ARJ21
The ARJ21, short for Advanced Regional Jet for the 21st Century, is a regional jet developed by COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China). It is designed to serve short to medium-haul routes and can accommodate around 70 to 100 passengers, making it suitable for regional airlines. The aircraft features modern technology and aims to compete with similar jets from manufacturers like Bombardier and Embraer.
First introduced in 2008, the ARJ21 has undergone various testing and certification processes. It received its type certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in 2016, allowing it to enter commercial service. The jet represents China's efforts to develop its own aviation industry and reduce reliance on foreign aircraft.
