AB+ (Blood)
AB+ is one of the eight main blood types in the ABO blood group system. It is characterized by the presence of both A and B antigens on the surface of red blood cells, along with the Rh factor, making it a positive blood type. Individuals with AB+ blood can receive blood from all other blood types, making them universal recipients.
People with AB+ blood can donate to other AB+ individuals and those with AB- blood. This blood type is relatively rare, occurring in about 4% of the population. Understanding blood types is crucial for safe blood transfusions and organ transplants, as compatibility can prevent serious medical complications.
